Anne with Flower Anne harrowing

My aunt Anne Bridge with her favourite horses: photos taken while she was a "Land Girl" during the war or soon after. The first picture shows Anne driving the horse and cart - she has written "Flower" on the picture, presumably the name of the horse. In the second, the horses are pulling a harrow. The background is the same and I suppose both pictures were taken the same day.

The last photograph shows a parade in Bedford, with Anne and the others in Land Girl uniform. Judging by the number of Union flags in the background, it was probably a celebration of the end of wartime hostilities, either VE day (8th May 1945) or VJ day (15th August 1945). The sacks on the carts appear to be full of grain, suggesting a recent harvest, so August seems more likely.
