Three pictures all taken in Ashford, at ages 15, 18 and 20?
Two photos taken in Pretoria around 1895, age 30.
This picture seems to have been taken around 1900, when he was drilling wells for water.
A wedding portrait, seemingly, so taken in 1908 when Walter was 44 and Mary 34.
Mary is holding George, born Jan 1910, here he looks to be 6 months old. The African boy is presumably the house boy (nurse?)
Walter is carrying "Boy" - his first child, George, who here
looks to be about two. The original is only an inch square!
Mary and the children returned to live in England in 1922, so this
snapshot must have been taken just before they sailed.
Around 1925, Walter visited his cousins in Kent, taking his younger son James. This shows them with Walter's sister-in-law Amy and her daughter Ianthe.
